Join me on my next hosted trip to Alaska with Orvis Endorsed Expeditions Alaska Adventures based in Southwest Alaska in the heart of Katmai National Park on the wild on scenic Alagnak River. In search for a remote location with huge salmon runs and healthy populations of large Rainbow Trout, I found this Lodge on mile 52 of the Alagnak River on a section infamously named the “Upper Braids”.
Inaccessible to other float planes, the lodge sits right on top of some of the best, and remote fishing in the state. With great fishing right in front of camp amongst the hundreds of islands and braids, as well as access to three different river systems via jet boat, there is over three lifetimes worth of fishing, without the crowds. With no need for daily fly-outs, time is spent fishing practically from the time you leave the doc till you get back to the lodge. Come with me to Alaska Adventures and experience the Alagnak River and Alaska Adventures Orvis Endorsed Expeditions. Run by Owner Pilot/Guide Charles Sumerville and his staff of top notch veteran fishing guides since 1985.
If you’re looking for some of the best fly fishing Alaska has to offer than this trip is for you. We still have a few prime spots left for 2007 fly fishing trips.

Fly commercial airline service from home town to Anchorage (ANC) and onto the town of King Salmon (ANK). We plan to arrive in the town of King Salmon on Saturday and stay over at the King Salmon (hotel booked by Alaska Adventures). On Sunday morning we will transported to the float plane charter on a 20 min. flight that will transfer us to the lower Alagnak River. You are expected to pay the $200 round trip float plane fee in King Salmon at the float plane charter.
On the way out after your wonderful week of fishing, Alaska Adventures asks us to book our airline tickets out of King Salmon no earlier then 3:00pm on Sunday due to the fact that weather might affect groups getting into King Salmon from Camp. We will either book the red eye out of Anchorage on Sunday night or stay over in Anchorage and fly out on Monday.
